GrapesFresh table grapes have been grown for food in different parts of the world since prehistoric times, but have only recently been recognized as a true superfruit for their exceptional nutritional richness, antioxidant, disease-fighting properties combined with sugar sweet taste.

Grapes are chock full of vitamins and minerals.Their cardio-protective secret ingredient is resveratrol, a potent antioxidant which researchers say can actually prolong life, protect the cardiovascular system and combat the effects of a high-fat diet.

Other researchers say grapes may also be potent against viruses and tumors because of their high tannin content and can assist in eliminating acid from the system.

The uses of fresh table grapes are many and varied. They can be eaten raw, or used for making jam, juice, jelly, vinegar, grape seed extracts and oil or processed as dried fruit. They can used as signature ingredients for salads and entrees and as garnishes for finished dishes. And, of course, the most popular use for grapes is making delicious and healthful wines.

Sources, Seasons and Supply: LGS imports grapes from Brazil, Chile and Peru, where the dry summer climates of the Southern Hemisphere offer ideal conditions for grape growing. Our supply includes Perlettes, Thomspon Seedless, Flame Seedless, Autumn Royals, Sugarones, Crimsons, Red Globes, Black Seedless and more.

Packaging: LGS’ grapes are primarily packed in 18lb cartons. 2- 3- and 4lb clam shells are available for seasonal programs.
